As the Data Architect the primary function of this position is to assist with the recommendations of platform, end user business intelligence tools, design, quality, governance, privacy, security and performance standards. This position is also responsible for helping to deliver data solutions that solve significant business and data problem, investigate, identify and implement state of the art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains across key business and customer functions. The Data Architect will also provide key oversight and direction for the overall data architecture, design and implementation to support end user data needs.

Job Requirements

Education :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any data related field preferred

Work Experience:

  • Seven (7+) years of experience in the field of Data Architecture preferred

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to serve as a senior technologist and architectural advisor directly influencing a large information technology organization via your strong technical leadership.
  • Ability to perform as a lead technologist to masterfully assess and design applications, systems solutions, and interfaces for multiple systems.
  • Ability to learn the latest technologies and be self-started in running proof of concepts to determine how they can be applied to solve needs within the organization.
  • Skilled with broad, conceptual understanding of the technology architecture trends, and directions coupled with demonstrated technical mastery for technologies, frameworks, and/or languages.
  • Ability to influence and set technical direction.
  • Skilled at contributing and communicating your expert knowledge of applications/systems and concepts to a broader audience.
  • Ability to architect end-to-end solutions across distributed, cloud and business intelligence environments.
  • Ability to influence teams to a future state while understanding the need to make practical decisions along the way. Strong ability to create a following amongst a technical group.
  • Strong skills and experience in data manufacturing, data warehouse, data marts and information delivery.
  • Understanding of data governance, data integrity, master data management, data quality design, develop, and deployment best practices.
  • Deep understanding of ETL tools, best practice processes – enterprise ETL tools, self-service, and data preparation).
  • Data Visualization Tools (IBM Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) At least one tool.
  • Understanding of BI best practices, architectures, tools, methodologies, and software.
  • Proficient SQL (SQL, Stored Procedures, Dynamic SQL, Joins, Aggregation, etc.).
  • Experience with Data Structure Solutions (Big Data, RDBMS, NoSQL).
  • Experience with a couple of Database Systems (IBM DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, My SQL, Postgress, etc.)
  • Skilled in one or more scripting languages, such as R, Ruby, JavaScript, Python, VBScript, Shell Script
  • Experience structuring and analyzing large quantities of data and information for statistical and analytical modeling.
  • Experience with AWS, IBM Cognos, IBM DB2, Denodo, IBM CDC, Google Big Query is a plus.
  • Experience with implementing ML solutions.
