  • Cyacomb has secured £6.5m in a funding round led by the Scottish National Investment Bank. They are an online policing firm that enhances online safety by enabling law enforcement and social media companies to locate, block, and remove harmful content. Their collaboration with Interface created partnerships with Edinburgh Napier University and University of Edinburgh, as well as lead to further investment.
  • Edinburgh-based insect genetics firm Beta Bugs has secured £1.72m in funding to scale up its Black Soldier Fly egg and larva production for the insect farming sector. This investment is going to help Beta Bugs scale their commercial opportunities. Interface are proud to have worked with them in the past, including establishing a collaboration for them with the University of Edinburgh.
  • Crover Ltd have developed the world’s first robotic device that can monitor the condition of grains, such as wheat and barley, that are stored in sheds and silos for long periods of time. This month they were awarded a $500k award prize from Grow-NY, a business competition for innovative food and agriculture technology startups to compete for prize money.   • Congratulations to FC Labs who have secured £150k investment for its AI-powered solution to reducing workplace accidents. FC Labs utilised Interface’s services to access an Innovation Voucher, further funding and to work on collaborative projects with University of Aberdeen, University of Strathclyde and University of Stirling.
  • 24 of Scotland’s most innovative start-ups have been selected from 163 applicants to pitch for up to £100,000 in funding at the Scottish EDGE round 22 final.
